Lydia Christiansen, MD
Dr. Lydia Christiansen is a board-certified pathologist with expertise in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology. Over nearly two decades of practice, she has served in leadership and diagnostic roles across Wyoming and beyond, including in positions such as Laboratory Medical Director, Department Chair, and President of professional pathology groups.
After earning her medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she completed her residency and Chief Residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Here, she served as Chief Resident, and then went on to complete a fellowship in Hematopathology at the same institution. Her work focuses on integrating microscopic evaluation, laboratory testing, and molecular data to deliver accurate, timely diagnoses that guide treatment decisions.
Dr. Christiansen actively participates in several professional organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. She cites her passion for pathology and hematopathology as stemming from the field’s integration of laboratory data, molecular diagnostics, and pathology in solving medical “mysteries.” Deeply passionate about the science of change, she advocates for research and improved understanding in women’s health across all stages of life.
When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys gardening, hiking, watching sunsets, and traveling with her children. Her guiding philosophy comes from a simple reminder: “If nothing changes, nothing changes.”
