Tarah Browne, DO

Dr. Tarah Browne is a dual board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine with more than 17 years of clinical experience. She specializes in the comprehensive care of adults with a particular focus on dementia diagnosis, management, and caregiver support.

Dr. Browne earned her medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at College Medical Center in Long Beach, California, and pursued a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, California. Her practice incorporates treatments of various types of dementia, cognitive assessments, and end-of-life care, illustrating a strong foundation in both primary and specialty care.

A member of the American Geriatrics Society and the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Browne has experience in expert witness testimony for elder abuse and capacity-related cases. Her research includes co-authoring a study published in the Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association on factors influencing end-of-life care for patients with dementia.

Dubbed by many of her patients and peers as “Dr. Sunshine", Dr. Browne advocates for whole-person care that aligns with individual values and preferences, particularly at vulnerable stages of life. She is admired for her positive spirit, sense of humor, and ability to make people feel truly seen and supported.

In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, open water swimming, and college basketball. She is an avid reader and writer. She also has a deep passion for international travel and bringing home the knowledge of different world cuisines. Whether she’s in the clinic, the community, or simply taking a moment to listen, Dr. Browne values a strong relationship built on trust, and shared decision-making and she strives to bring those principles into every encounter.
