New Expertise in Allergy and Immunology: Dr. Mary Ann Miranda

Gillette, WY — October 6, 2025 Mary Ann Miranda, MD, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of environmental, food and drug allergies; asthma; urticaria (hives); chronic rhinosinusitis; nasal polyps; and primary immune deficiency disorders. She also brings a strong background in internal medicine, having served in multiple hospitalist and academic roles prior to her subspecialty training.

Earning her medical degree from the Medical College in Kerala, India, Dr. Miranda completed her internal medicine residency at Hurley Medical Center, Michigan State University. She then went on to a fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

During this time, she gained additional training across a wide spectrum of immunologic and allergic conditions, publishing research on high symptom burden in female X-linked chronic granulomatous disease carriers, and presenting her findings at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and the Clinical Immunology Society (CIS).

Reflecting on her approach to patient care, Dr. Miranda emphasizes the importance of accessibility and comprehensive treatment. “I am passionate about being an advocate for my patients, especially in providing comprehensive allergy and immunology care in the management of conditions that can result in a positive impact on quality of life.”

Her professional career includes serving as an allergist and immunologist at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City, as well as locum practice in Texas. She has also held numerous hospitalist roles in Oklahoma and New Mexico, managing both community and academic inpatient services prior to subspecializing in allergy and immunology.

Dr. Miranda notes that her passion for the specialty grew from her broad background in internal medicine. “I decided to pursue Allergy and Immunology as it is a fascinating subject matter where complex science is applied to clinical practice.”

By bridging her strong foundation in internal medicine with training in allergy and immunology, Dr. Miranda is able to provide comprehensive care that not only addresses immediate symptoms but also focuses on long-term health and prevention.
